Let the color wander.
With ice dyeing, melting ice carries the dye through carefully folded fabric. The colors travel and blend, creating little details that cannot be planned exactly.
It’s the process Nini thinks of as true art: a meeting of careful hands, patience, and a willingness to be surprised.
Reverse dye starts with a darker garment. Color is removed in a tied pattern, revealing a design against the dark fabric. Some pieces are then given new layers of bright color.
The result can be earthy and subtle, or brilliantly colorful. Explore the finished originals and the clearly marked made-to-order designs.
There is always room for the joyful colors that started it all: fuchsia, turquoise, lemon yellow, and a little experimentation. Nini works with all kinds of color combinations and loves hearing what you’re drawn to.
